Table Rock Lake and Buffalo National River

Today we took a little drive to Branson Missouri, and on down to Arkansas.  Our first stop was Table Rock Dam.  This is overlooking the White River.

I learned something interesting about Table Rock Lake.  The city of Oasis Missouri is at the bottom of the lake.  It was submerged when the dam was completed in 1960.  The town is a popular scuba diving destination.  You can dive right down main street, and check out the town, including the old church.  This article is  about a lady who grew up in Oasis. Here is video of a dive in Table Rock Lake.
I didn't manage a picture, but there were two bald eagles soaring above the lake.

After Table Rock, we headed down the road a bit to Arkansas!  Everything was so beautiful.  The leaves were breathtaking.  The pictures really don't do justice.

We hiked a bit along the Buffalo National River.  The water is usually really blue.  I'm wondering if it was a bit murky because of all of the rain we have been having.

I absolutely love living in an area that has four seasons!  Fall is my favorite!

The colors are gorgeous, Jori! Interesting story about the town at the bottom of the lake and that you can scuba dive down to it.

Wow, you have some lovely fall color! We didn't get the reds this year.
These are beautiful! I'm envious.
I have to go now and check out that underwater town. What fun would that be. I don't swim so I don't think I'll be going but what fun that has to be.

You are blessed to have such a beautiful change of seasons!! BEAUTIFUL!! Interesting about the town below the waters.
During our drought the last two years here in Atlanta - the lake water was getting so low in Lake Lanier that boats were hitting decaded buildings that were submerged when they dammed up our lake years ago!

That foliage is GORGEOUS. Pretty awesome that one can scuba dive to see a town under water. Wow.

Woah, so gorgeous!!! These photos are spectacular. If it was even better in person, I can't imagine how amazing it was to see with your own eyes. I love fall!

Beautiful photos! I love fall and the trees have been pretty this year. The trees were just starting to turn when we were in Branson and around here the peak has just passed. I wish the leaves could stay around a little longer.
