More Route 66- Red Oak Missouri

More Spring break adventures today!  Yesterday we didn't get very far down Route 66 before the kids were tired and in need of the potty. ;)  Today, we took another run at it.  We met Gary, the owner of Gay Parita!  He even gave the girls autographed Route 66 photo's!!He showed us around and suggested we head down the road to Red Oak Missouri.
Red Oak is what they call a transplant city.  It is a private collection of Route 66 buildings and cars.

It is INCREDIBLY charming! I adore this little blue house.
 Blacksmith shop!
 Church
 Adorable dairy truck
 Awesome car
 Old highway patrol car
I don't think I would have dared fly in this, even when it was new.
Fabulous car, fire truck, and firehouse.
 Cutest Phillips 66 ever!
I think this bottle art is cool!
 Red Oak"Missoura"
John Deere Truck is SO cool!

I need to ask my dad the years on all of these vehicles.  1950 something, I'm sure.

Pretty little house, love the big flower, made from farm equipment.
 When can I move in??
I would be happy to drive off in this little beauty!

Again, if you are ever in Springfield head down the road a bit.  Gay Parita is about 25 miles west of Springfield, and Red Oak is about 50 miles out.  There are tons of fun little spots all along Route 66.

See more of my Route 66 posts here, here, here, and here.

I LOVE all the old cars and buildings....especially the cutest ever Phillips 66! That kind of reminds me of when me and Hubby went to the ghost town. One of those buildings had been relocated there. Thanks for sharing this awesome ride with us! I really enjoyed it...now to go look here, here, here and here. :)

What a fun trip. I would love to travel Route 66 some day. The old patrol car and the Phillip 66 station are my favorites.

I LOVE this post!!
So much to see.
Everytime I see that particular piece of farm equipment I think of flowers so it didn't surprise me that someone had done that. Now if I could find someone to give me one. :)
I could so see living in that little house with all the rest surroundings me - yes, I'm dreaming.
Thanks for this wonderful look!!!

Great collection of shots, Jori! Looks like a neat place to visit.
Do you say Missourah or MissouREE? :) It's always MissouREE in this area.

I love the Adorable dairy truck. I remember as a child in the mid 60's having milk delivered to the front door by one of those trucks. They were old then. My uncle drove one of those for a lot of years.
