Amish Boys

This is a photo I snapped last week during our little drive to Seymour Missouri.  These drives are such a shot in the arm for me.  I feel so at peace driving country roads.

We passed these two young Amish boys working in their field.  They lead such a simple life.  Things that I feel I MUST have, they get by without just fine.

Makes me want to simplify as much as possible, and focus on what matters most.  Heaven knows I am far too wimpy to live TOO simply, but I would really like to cut out so much clutter and noise in my life.  I want to be sure and notice God's blessing's and beautiful creations each day.

I like to think I could lead that life, but I know I couldn't. I could never breathe without my art and camera. Who would I be without them? Stay warm and happy first day of spring!

Beautiful! I would love the more relaxed
simple life when families had more time together... but with some moderation...

Beautiful shot! I think I've reached a "saturation" point where I have most everything I need, and I'm really wanting to shed a lot of the extras. (I think I'll keep the cars and electricity, though...)

Just hopping by to return your visit to my blog. Thanks for coming over and taking the time to comment.

I like how you turned this into a painting. Very peaceful.

Living simply is a art in itself. Sometimes I think I could live very simply, other times not so much. ;)

I think we could all do with some more simplicity in our lives. I am definitely drawn to that way of living over the hustle and bustle for sure.

Another lovely textured shot!
My son and his wife live simply. There home is clutter free. I marvel at that. Like you I'd like to live more simply but I like my 'things'. :)

We may all be forced to do just that some day....we might better enjoy what we have been blessed with while we still have a chance...ya' think?

I'm fairly certain I would fail miserably trying to live an Amish-style life. I'm too into my creature comforts. :sigh: I don't think that speaks too well for me, does it? :oS

It's a wonderful photo and makes me wish I too could be satisfied with a simpler way of life.

Great shot! I visited the Pennsylvania Amish last year for a few days, I absolutely loved it there - I loved the simplicity of their lifestyle.

I love this picture of the two boys. I want to make my life a little simpler and clear out my clutter in my home. Less can be more.

Jori,
I agree with you Keep It Simple! I don't like clutter. The Hubby is always after me about tossing something that has not been used in our married life, but we might need. We have been married 8 1/2 year, if we haven't used it, we aren't going to.

I like the edit on this picture and can't believe you have so much green already.

What a sweet shot, reminding us all of simpler times. I sometimes wish I could live that sort of life. Sigh.

Really does make one want to simplify their life, as you say, doesn't it? I always have had a fascination with the Amish.

I so can see how this lifestyle would want to make you simplify...nothing wrong with that. Makes life a whole alot easier.
