Above is a picture of me when I was 4 years old-nearly 36 years ago! Do you like my bangs?? I had just cut my own hair. ;) I turn 40 in 40 days! Over the next 40 days I am going to try and do a different activity in anticipation of the big day. I want 90% of my activities to be service oriented. I have been brain storming random acts of kindness that I could do this month. If you would like to join in by doing a random act of kindness, please let me know! You can comment on my blog or use the hash tag #jori40 on instagram, to let me know what you did.
Hooray! random act's of kindness make the world a better place for everyone. Below is my first grade picture. I am on the third row from the bottom second girl in from the right. (pink dress white turtle neck) I am sporting a Dorothy Hamill hair cut, or as my hairdresser called it "the short and sassy." :) Please join in with me! I will be posting my activity each day. Some days may be a pampering day like a pedicure, although things for myself are going to be kept to the bare minimum. I haven't had a pedicure in about 15 years, so I thought I would treat myself during my 40 day party. :) |

LOVE THIS IDEA! i like the 40 days o' celebrating, that's for sure! i'm going to join in. do something nice - maybe just for my little boys or husband, but i'll make it something that i normally wouldn't do. (hey, at this point, shaving my own legs would probably count for the husband. wink wink)
love little girl jori pics, absolutely adorable!
What a wonderful way to celebrate!
really cute idea.
Very cute photos! And happy b-day too! What a great idea will be happy to follow and do some random acts of kindness too.
What a cutey pie! Love those hair do's! That's such a sweet idea! Looking forward to hearing about them (and doing them, too!) xx
Happy Birthday! Love those old photos of you! What a cutie!
Very cute picture! We've been doing random act of kindness for the last few months here...someone gave me a $50.00 bill :) What a great way to celebrate your birthday!
What a wonderful idea! Best to go all out and celebrate rather than lament the number.
You're still young - at least YOUR first grade picture is in COLOR! :)
People are going to wonder what you are up to with your random acts of kindness. lol Melissa, the co-worker that I have that is from Utah, did that kind of thing all the time....if Joyce, our oldest lady in our department, said she wished she had some Rolos, Melissa would disappear, and when she came back, she would have Rolos not only for Joyce, but for me, as well, because I am second oldest and she knew I loved them, too. Melissa just works prn now, and I miss her being ther every night surprising everyone by doing all the nice things she did....and always without being asked...she wanted to do things for others. She was one in a million.
Happy birthday to you...did you say in 40 days? My memory is so bad that I can't remember what I just read! Toot!
And you looked really cute in your Dorothy Hamill haircut!
What a lovely way to celebrate your birthday... by thinking of others.

What a cutie you are. Love the idea of celebrating 40 days of kindness acts. Will be looking forward to them.

I am sorry I missed the first part of this adventure, you are still such a cutie pie :)
We are in our 40th year together. YAY
Monday I paid for the groceries for the guy in front of me, he didn't have enough money so I helped.
Yesterday 2 young men were looking for work we "hired" them to do some yard work Lee is not able to do...today I have been home all day so far...the adventure continues.
Thank You For This!
