Whootie!

I was zipping down the road and noticed something big up in the trees.  I stopped(in the middle of the road of course) and lo and behold it was an owl!  I have never seen an owl in the wild, much less taken a picture of one.  It is excitment overload around here folks!

That is so cool! This photo looks like it was taken during the day. Did you see an owl during the day?

Congrats on the owl shot! Barred owls are not to common here in Florida so I would have stopped too.

It is rare to see any owl in the daylight, but a Barred Owl prefers the deeper woods so I wouldn't expect him to be out where you could see him (or her ... can't tell without seeing the mate) So, this is your lucky day, I would say. It may be that he is looking for a mate because this is their breeding time ... Great find, great shot ...

What a gift! As you know these are nocturnal creatures. Every one I've seen during the day has been high up in a tree and blended in nearly perfectly. To get one out in the bright sunshine like this is incredible. Looks like our barred owls. Awesome shot!

Of the Owls around where I live, Barred Owls are my favorite. I have never had this gift, you had, and wow, you got such a marvelous image too. We used to do rehab and I did get to hold one, but no images in the wild of nature. My other favorite Owl is the Great Gray, oh to see one of those;')
