Barn with a stone flower foundation

This little beauty was difficult to photograph.  It's off of a highway and sits way back off of the road.  It's hilly and a farm house sits in front of it.  I was amazed by the stone work!  Do you see the flower design in the stone??  Gorgeous!

This is my trespassing photo, I drove down the long country lane and quickly snapped right by their house.  Thankfully they didn't turn their dogs loose on me. :)  The tree is kind of blocking the view.  I didn't want to be too obnoxious, so I didn't pull any closer than this.
I think it's just beautiful. I wish I knew more about it.  I like to think that the person that built it, put the flowers in the stone to please his wife. :) Whomever built it, did an amazing job!

Ohh Jori!!
I am enjoying your hobby of barn looking!! Now if I was with you--- I would have drug you up to that farmer's house and asked to photograph their barn (would have taken a few shots before asking if they say no) and ask the story!! There has to be a story to that lovely flower!! NEAT!!

Isn't that amazing that someone took the time to create flowers with the stones? LOVE THIS!!! When I win the lottery, I will have to find out where this is because I want it!

What a beautiful barn! A true artist designed that stone base. Thanks for breaking the law to get these photos for us! :) Actually, I think you should just knock on the farmhouse door and ask away!

thanks for sneaking up on this gorgeous barn...love all that stone. we certainly don't have barns like this in this part of the midwest...all wood or steel for us.

I noticed the flower right away!!! And this barn is wonderful. I would have liked to have the nerve to knock on the door and ask its history....but I usually don't have the nerve.

Gorgeous barn! The stonework is fantastic, and the flower has to have a story behind it. Glad you drove up the driveway to get a better shot. You could always ask for directions if they questioned what you were doing....
