Song Pop

Please come play Song Pop aka funnest game ever!!!!!  It's like name that tune.  Thank's Rach for introducing this little gem to me!

Isaac

This is a picture of Isaac rolling in last night.  I thought these guys were supposed to mostly peeter out once they hit land.  It rained all night, and we are to be hammered all day, and in to tomorrow.  Hopefully no flooding, tornado's or power outages.  We need the rain desperately.  I will let you know if anything interesting happens.  :)

Anyone sick of barns yet?? Good, me neither. ;)  These are just a few pics I snapped while out and about.

Panko Crusted Sweet and Sour Baked Chicken

I've made this recipe many times, but I always fry the chicken.  Tonight was my first time baking it.  I have to say, I like baked even better! The chicken was more tender and didn't feel as heavy.  Make sure to use Panko bread crumbs.  They make the chicken super crunchy so you don't miss the frying! Sorry this pic doesn't have sauce.  Everybody was scarfing so fast, I didn't get a picture of the sauce. :)

Sweet and Sour Chicken
4 chicken breasts cut into bite size pieces
2 egg
panko crumbs

Sauce:
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. ketchup
2 tbs soy sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp accent
1/2 c. crushed pineapple

Take 4 skinless, boneless, thawed chicken breasts cut into strips or bite sized pieces.  Coat in egg and panko bread crumbs.  Place coated chicken on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.  Cook on 375 for 45 min.

Add sauce ingredients in pot and bring to boil, stirring constantly.  Lower heat  and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.  Keep stirring.

I made basmati rice and just poured a little sauce on the chicken.  That way much less sauce is consumed.  Yum!

Reeses Puff Treats

As luck would have it, I just bought a jumbo box Of Reese Puffs from Sam's!!  I think these will need to be made immediately!

A ride in the country

Today for my few hours of quiet(while my girl is at preschool) Did I clean? Did I grocery shop? Did I do yard work? Nope, drove around aimlessly in search of sweet barns.  I love that I can drive down any country road and am guaranteed to find something cool.  A few of these are repeats, I just snapped another pic, because I had my camera instead of just my phone.
LOVE the color on this barn!  SO pretty!
Not sure what this used to be.  I will have to figure it out.

Here is my cute truck from the other day.  I dig it.

This little sweetheart just got a fresh coat of red paint!
This old house is tough to see from the road, and there isn't anywhere to pull over.  I had to flip around to get a picture.  It's super overgrown in front of it, I did find this tiny break, in the trees and snapped this pic.  The color is so beautiful!
This gorgeous barn was down a long lane right up on somebody's property, so this is the best pic I could grab.  Love the faded green paint and ivy up the front.
 Cool wagon in a field.
This one is a repeat, it's one of my favorites!!

Below is my unexpected thrill/find of the day!  An old abandoned school built in 1894!!!!!  I rounded a corner and there it was!  I was so happy to find this youtube.  It shows footage of  the inside of the school!

I have endless country roads to explore.  Can't wait to see what I find next. :

Another Batch of Barns!

I couldn't be happier about all of the beautiful barns in Missouri!!  Most of my pics are taken with my phone, while I am driving around.  I really should keep my big camera in the car with me.

The Round Barn has been restored for use as a reception center.
This sweet truck was in a field near one of my barns, so I had to photograph.
I think the color on this barn is stunning.  I really need a better picture.
Pretty little hillside barn.

LOVE this yellow barn! I'm sure I will have another batch soon. I have a bit of an addiction going on.

Funtique's and Feathered Nest

With both of my girls in school, I was able to have some alone shopping time!!! My youngest is only in preschool, so it was only for a few hours, but it was still wonderful!  I started off at Funtiques.  It certainly lived up to it's name.  I had a blast and the staff is adorable.
How sweet is this aqua thermos and mug set??  I had to have it.
I would love to have this table and chair set in the front window.   The entire shop is adorable.  It made me happy just being there.

I couldn't resist the sweet mama and baby deer set.  I think they look cute on top of my pink radio.
LOVE this tv set!!  After visiting Funtique's I headed down to The Feathered Nest in Ozark.

This burlap wreath was calling my name.  I think it's fab for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  I was thinking for Christmas, I may change the bow to red gingham and add a little pine branch.   I will have to post a pic once I get it on the front door.

This vintage bed spring candle holder will be hung on my back porch.  I would like to get a few more of them.

Last but not least a Lemon Drop Cookie candle from Sugar Pie Farm House's booth.  I am not kidding, the best smelling thing EVER.  I know what my kid's teachers will be getting as gifts. :)

Speaking of back to school, this song has been perpetually in my head since the first day. I love it, it makes me a little teary.
