Springfield National Cemetery and Final trip photo's

After our visit to the Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, We visited the Springfield National Cemetery.  The cemetery is one of the few places in the country to inter both Confederate and Union soldiers together.  There is just a short wall separating them.
This monument is on the Union side.

 A monument to Nathaniel Lyon.

 Unknown Union Soldier
 Monument in Union cemetery.

 Confederate Monuments
Notice that it says "Confederate States of America" on it.

Below the grave of an unknown Confederate soldier.
We took my parents up to Kansas City to spend a few days with my brother's family.  Below are a few pictures we took along the way.

 Old church along Route 66

 Giant mushroom along the freeway.
My husband looking ready to eat an Amish wagon.  If only his mouth had been opened. ;)
Giant cow on top of someone's house.
 Pretty little farm.

We had so much fun showing my parents around Springfield.  We had a blast.  Can't wait until next time!!
