This may fall under the category of "We already know, and have known for some time loser." BUT just in case. If you want bright, vibrant eggs, use FOOD COLORING. Every year I buy a kit, and every year no matter how long our eggs soak they look super light. SO from now on we will be using food coloring.
For each color take
1/2 boiling water cup
1tsp vinegar
20 drops food coloring
They color fast and dark. LOVE it!

Your kids eggs look wonderful!! I always have vinegar and food coloring in the pantry, so I've never even thought about buying a coloring kit.
My 'kids" are grown up but this is the FIRST year we haven't dyed eggs - and NOW you share the secret of food coloring! Eh, who says you can't have pretty colored eggs any day of the week?
I never knew that!! So thank you so much for sharing this news! Yes, when you use the kits, you could leave the egg in for HOURS and it is still pale. LOL! My son is 20, and the last time we dyed eggs was a long time ago, but I can get ready and keep this info to gear up for future grandkids! LOL! Have a wonderful Easter.
Best,
Gloria

Thank you for sharing.. Happy Easter & Happy Pink Saturday~
I spent Saturday with my great grandson and we dyed eggs. However, we did not do it this way. Too many fancy kits available now. Back in my early days, it was sweet and simple.
I love those bright colorful eggs. It's what the kids love. Our grand-girls did tie dyed eggs this year....LOL....Happy Easter
